Research for America

I should maybe widen my daily reading to more than just the nytimes, but it's just so convenient. I heard from a friend that in Britain folks read opposing newspapers and therefore know the pros and cons of assorted issues (this probably happens everywhere except in America)...versus my way of taking the nytimes as bible and knowing anything that O'Reily spouts out are laden with lies...
In any case, I liked the idea of this blog post, sort of like Teach for America, but for scientists...I like the idea of an army of scientists being supported by the government and improving the world slowly but surely...
